The Assignment

• Assist students in their schoolwork as led and planned by our teachers.
• Be the student's extended arm when it comes to physical difficulties.
• Help students with significant care needs, such as eating, hygiene, and toilet tasks.
• Support students in physical activities both indoors and on walks and other outdoor activities.

Challenges and Opportunities

Our students do not always find it easy to express their wishes and feelings. This requires you to be able to read situations and prevent misunderstandings. The work is intensive; sometimes the noise level can be high, and you should not be afraid to get physically involved. You will have a warm and cheerful team to help you, who are happy to share their knowledge about working with young people, e.g., how to work in a low-arousal manner and with positive reinforcement.

You Need to Bring

Requirements

• Qualified preschool teacher or other equivalent education focusing on meeting children/students with ID (intellectual disabilities).
• Ability to create good relationships, be unpretentious, and communicative in your work.

Meritorious

• Experience working with children and young people in need of special support within adapted schools.
• Experience with NPF and children/students who may exhibit challenging behavior.

We are located in adapted premises in part of Rodengymnasiet where we teach within the framework of subject areas. A total of 27 colleagues work within Norrtälje adapted upper secondary school, of which 14 staff work in the Individual Program where the substitutes are needed.
